Hello! I am Firmanshah Bin Bakhtiar, a student taking Diploma in Chemical Engineering at Singapore Polytechnic. I will be sharing more about what I learn throughout my entire journey in the Chemical Product Design and Development module. So hang on tight, because we are going for an extremely thrilling ride!

Firstly, I would like to set 2 personal goals that I wish to achieve in the module by the end of this semester:

  1. I want to improve my CAD skills in Fusion360. I am not really as proficient as my classmates in Fusion360. Therefore, I would like to practice Fusion360 which will be very useful in laser cutting and 3D printing.
  2. I want to improve on my skills in creating aesthetically pleasing and attention-grabbing slides. Upon viewing online presentations, there are many slides that catches my eye. I want my slides to be able to capture the audiences and build some sort of connection with them.

2 strategies that I can follow in order to achieve these 2 goals would be:

  1. To improve my CAD skills , I can watch YouTube videos to learn other features that are available in Fusion360. So far, I have only learnt the basic features to only make a keychain. Hence, I can learn more advanced sketches from following YouTube videos or other online resources.
  2. To improve on my skills in slides presentation, I can read online resources such as from SP Library where there are many resources that can help me to create aesthetically pleasing presentation slides. Gaining inspiration from online presentation slides will also help me to create attention grabbing slides. I can also learn what type of fonts that are pleasing to the eyes of the audiences.

How I know that I have met my goals:

  1. I will know whether I have accomplised this goal because, if I have, by the end of the semester I would be able to create my own sketch using the advanced features and be confident to either 3D print laser cut it.
  2. I will know whether I have accomplised this goal because, if I have, by the end of the semester I would be able to create a presentation that is captivating where the audiences will be focused on the presentation and not get distracted easily.
